Have a look at the bearing in the roller, they didn't have any covers on to prevent water and dirt getting in. I had one that was collapsing in one direction and jamming. If so replace them on both sides with sealed ones, anso look to see that the roll pin in intact. I presume the battery is a good one?
If no joy, another thing to check is that the aerial signal isn't getting blocked by something metalic next to it, and that the spade connections to and from the control PCB are sound.
