Newly acquired X reg (2000) Swift coach built motorhome with an electrolux RM-4262 3-way fridge.

Fridge works on electric and lights (and stays lit) on gas but doesn't cool - if anything the temperature goes up.

We have been through various forums & feel like we have tried everything suggested, so think it's time to ask for help!

It is level, the baffle is in place, we have taken out & cleaned the burner. Outside temperature has ranged from 5 degrees to about 15, so no extremes, plenty of air flow (vents clear) and there is heat at the back of the fridge. Also rotated/sat upside down, when we thought the electric wasn't working either (turns out it was, just not as quick, or as cold as the one in our 2012 Adria caravan).

I was convinced I'd found the answer this week, being to remove the jet & soak in acetone (nail varnish remover) to remove soot inside, but when my husband brought it in, it's just a little frisby shaped piece with a pin hole in the top, not like the bullet shaped ones I'd seen, so nowhere for soot to be...

Thank you in advance for reading.

If the fridge works on electric then there is nothing basically wrong with it. Gas or electric element are simply two methods to heat the ammonia boiler.
You obviously have a gas flame as you have heat at the back of the fridge. My only thought could be that the gas flame regulator on the fridge may be faulty. Can you see the flame increase in size as you turn the regulator from minimum to maximum?

Have left it overnight, with frozen food (just some beans that needed to be thrown anyway) and it had started to defrost. Thermometer showed temperature had increased.

It's hard to see if the flame increases, but the dial is quite stiff, could this be an indicator of an issue?

You say newly acquired. Did it come from a dealer. If so they should sort it. If not, then I suggest you find a mobile caravan service engineer to check it out. make sure he is an approved engineer.

Usually if it does not cool on gas it is because the coolant in the tubes has settled and isn't circulating.

I fixed mine by removing the fridge and storing it on each side for a few hours and then upside down overnight.

Already tried that, but now knowing it works on electric, I don't think that can be the issue.
