I have just noticed the the top left corner of our front window is broken and the piece is missing.
Caravan is an Elddis San Remo 304 2017
We can only work out when it happened by going back through photos of our trips from this year and it's been several months. I have no idea how it happened and we do not have the missing piece.
Is this repairable or is the best option to replace?
Would insurance cover the repair of this?
Attached is a photo of the broken corner and the non broken other side for comparison.
Without the broken bit how could you repair it, IMHO it's non repairable.
If you didn't want to go down the new route it would be a case of trawling through the breakers websites for one for an Xplore 304 model.
Good luck.

As well is two words!

Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
That has certainly took a hard knock to break the corner off. You can try an insurance claim but you need to weigh up the cost of replacing against any likely rise in insurance cost. My be worth contacting a caravan breaker such as SFM and see what a second hand window would cost first,

I doubt if even a large stone flying up would cause that sort of damage so you may struggle with an insurance claim? The windows are not cheap and as above I would suggest a breaker's yard.
A replacement window would cost £300 plus, but to me the main considderation would be is it still a sealed unit and not leaking water in? It would appear to be just the outside edge that is broken off and therefore more cosmetic than functional damage.

I had to replace a front broken window on our caravan in 2022 but the damage was at the bottom right hand corner. Something had hit the window in transit and detached the complete external half of the window just leaving the internal one in place with a damaged corner and secured by just the 3 window locks. I searched for several months for a replacement window with several breakers around the UK without any success so I had no choice but to put a claim in with my caravan insurance. The cost of the new window was touching nearly 900 quid but £250 of that cost was the VAT. If you do manage to find a used replacement window from a breaker you can expect to pay anything between £150 and £400 depending on the quality of the window for sale.
Thank you for the replies. I was surprised we were not aware when this might of happened. It is the outer part of the window all the seals inside seem fine. We have a friend who works in caravan repairs so will run this past him.
The side window on my Elddis has cracked in the same place, I think its due to the plastic window being too close to the hinge and catching when opening.
I cut a bit off the plastic so it didn't catch and drilled a hole in the end of the crack.
My first reaction seeing the photos, was much the same as pickled onion. Surely thr part that has broken off simply stands in fresh air and the area thar you need to seal the window to the surround, is still intact. After all, if you have only just noticed after a number of months, then there can not be any real problem.
Personally, provided it is still doing the job, I would be inclined to leave well alone.
I managed to find a used window for our Coachman when some little sod threw a coin off a bridge as we passed underneath
It cost £172 which wasn't too cheap but it was cracked in the middle so there was no option.
I found it on eBay. They're super easy to fit - just undo the window stays and lift the window up above the horizontal and they come free of the hinge at the top.
