Hi I have a new battery and the 12v is working fine

However I went to plug in 240 hook up from house and the RCD in caravan trips
When it trips it shows green?

Please can you remind me should charger be on and should the rocker switch for Caravan/ middle/ car
Be in middle?
As you can tell I know nothing about electrics
It was all working fine in the autumn and the hook up cable was kept in garage
Thank you for any help

The rocker switch that states 'Caravan/Middle/Car' is related to the 12 volt power only and not related to the 240 volt mains supply at all. 'Car' is for when the caravan is hitched up to the car and the power feed comes from the car, 'Caravan' is for when it's unhitched and using battery power and 'Middle' is neutral which is neither of the two other functions. If it was working okay previously it sounds like the problem could be a defective hook up cable so you could either try a different cable or plug in a basic mains tester (see link) into one of the 3 pin sockets which should detect if there is a fault.

to check if you have incoming 230V connect your hook-up cable to the supply then push the test button on the RCD in the van, if it trips then you have incoming mains, if not you have probably got a fault on your hook-up cable.

Hi Saxo, the original post says:

Sounds to me as if it's a fault in the caravan.

I would switch off the caravan main breaker and all the other caravan breakers then plug in the EHU cable. Hopefully it will not trip like this.

Then switch on main breaker. Does it trip?
Then switch on each of the other breakers. Does it trip?

If it trips when a particular one is switched on there is a fault on that circuit. If so make sure no equipment is plugged in to it or switched on.
Does it trip? If not plug equipment in one at a time and switch things on one at a time etc and see if it trips.

That way you can identify which item causes the trip. That is the fault.

I agree,I only suggested it is easier to test trip an RCD to determine if there is incoming rather than try another hook-up cable as was suggested.

Ok I will try that on Tuesday as on nights now.
Thank you both so much for help.
Will the manual, which I find hard to understand! Tell me where the other breakers are?
I have only noticed the one on ems2000 marked RCD

When I’m doing all this should the 12v switch above door be off?

We did not use caravan last year so I just cannot remember! I unplugged the hook up in winter as I knew I needed a new battery this spring as it was 7 yrs old and only just got us parked with m. Mover. I planned to get new battery and off we go😅

You ask if the the 12v switch above the door should be OFF. I you read my first post properly I specifically stated the following:
The rocker switch that states 'Caravan/Middle/Car' is related to the 12 volt power only and not related to the 240 volt mains supply at all.
The two electrical circuits are totally independent of each other which they are protected entirely different. The 12v circuit is protected by fuses but the mains circuit is protected by MCB's (Miniature Circuit Breakers) which are located in the RCD which the above posts are referring to.

Hi I followed suggestions
I turned off all breakers
I then turned them on one at a time
All stayed up
I tried a light on the 230v and it worked, so cable must be okay
I then turned on charger and main breaker tripped
I then turned them all off and tried bringing up one at a time.
Main breaker and 1 and 3 will work but if I bring up 2 it trips.
I hope you can help see phot
Lights not working without middle breaker

Well done. Sounds like the charger is faulty or there is a fault in the wiring to the charger.
