hello we are on seasonal site due to health issues we don't yow anymore .We have van serviced every year Last year was told window seal gone at front showing 20 per cent water ingress but he said he dosent do seals or damp .We put silver tape over seal and have been trying for 6 month for mobile guys to do seal no mobile guys will do them or any sealing work Had service last week showing now 40 percent but only about 6 inch down under window I have finally founfmd someone coming tonight yo put new seal on that's his job damp repairs .He's bringing his meter he said it should dry out once re sealed we have dried outce before years ago so know it can dry out but we took lino up I've had seal off bottom and had heater and hairdryer bon it ladt 2 days and today before it gets new seal Its the bare wood I've put heater on where seal came off Can anyone advise any more We can't tackle the damp ourselves if it's bad and at our age 76 and 72 don't want yo be changing the van Its a coachman amara we have now it's a 29qq so jot new but a good little van

Hi we have managed to get someone to do it and he's fitted a new seal we had a heater on trying to dry it out as he said it's around 23 percent moisture with his meter he does damp for a caravan repairers he said it will take ages to dry out My worry is that as it's coming ip to winter will it go qorse or not dry out Has anyone had a seal fitted and it was OK It looks l8ke as we couldn't get anyone water has seeped into it .The guy that did it daid don't worry it will dry but I'm a worrier anyway Anyone offer any advice please

we did ours after about 4-5 yrs of having a damp problem at the front end, the seals had to be replaced along with the timber on the inside, which stayed about the same over the later 4 years until we got around to sorting the problem out. to help matter we put a j strip above the front windows to redirect the water coming off the roof to go out and over the sides instead, seems to have worked a treat as it all bone dry for the last 2 years now

there is only a small amount around 20 percent om his meter as he has the professionalism meter he Said you don't get a true reading off the meters you can buy in the shops Its only around 1 window and he said it's nothing to worry about He is slso resealing the front rail for us next week The other windows are fine but we are going to have new seals put on them next year before any kore problems start He said it will dry out inside now the water ingress has stopped is this the case I have never dealt with this before
