just got me van and I dont know if my fridge works. Is it supposed to hum or make a noise at all. While hooked up to the mains today while giving her a good clean the ice box started to get a little cool but the fridge didnt. I couldnt hear anything at all ..... any body got any suggestions............

They are quiet, there is no compressor.

To see any effect place a drinks can in fridge area, cooling free air isnt as noticableexpecially in an empty fridge.

One thing to remember is caravan fridges need to be level to work well .

Caravan fridges are silent, so there will be no noise from it at all!  If the ice-box is getting cold, it seems to be working.  Are there any metal cooling fins inside the main compartment (ours has these as well as the ice-box) - they get cold to the touch too, as do any metal shelves.  As George said, you can't really 'feel' the empty air cooling.  Also, when the fridge is operating, there will be some heat coming from the vents in the caravan wall (top one especially) - not really noticable until it's been on for an hour or so, but it's another way of checking the fridge is working.  Turn it up full, leave it a good hour or so, and it will be obvious if it's working.
