hi see, www.fenwicks.info they do a cleaner you can use called FENDOX .thetford also do there own cleaner. you can not leave it in winter time because of frost, but once cleaned should be ok.
Over the years I have found that we only get black bits in the rinse if we use the rinse stuff in the water, if we only use plain water then the algae don't appear. I don't know why.

hi all, good business when you think about it,thetford sell you a tank pink fluid for the top tank that causes algea, then sell you something to get rid of it.
------------- the only silly question is the one you do not ask.
But the pink stuff does smell nice, and it helps to reduce the incidence of Captain Kirk's arch-enemies!!! I'll stick to using pink, and a dose of 'purple' before hibernation!

The blue stuff in the bottom doesn't smell too bad, and a cheap stick up air freshener will keep the bathroom fragrant for a lot less dosh.
A quick polish round the bowl with a squirt of Pledge will fight off the Klingons..
