Hi  worried about  the  winterising  as  this  is  our  1st  season.  Read  about  greasing  the  seals  on  the  cassette  and  having  to  buy  yet  another  expensive  product  which  seems  constant  this  year  already.  Any  advice  as  to  an  alternative  'grease'  and  do  I  need  to  remove  the  water  filter  now?  Thank  you :)

Hi Crosscat, Regarding the seals on your toilet, Don't use vaseline as it swells the rubber and distorts them so you won,t get an effective seal, lubricate them with Olive oil.

The toilet seal will do well with a bit of silicone spray. A more traditional method is to poor a few drops of olive oils on the cassete lid in the pot, which spreads out to the seal. Works well too, I understand.
So no need to buy expensive extra products, just look in the kitchen or in you toolbox.
