i have a double glazed window that has had its fair share of scrapes, ( bit like me ) and im wondering if there is a method of polishing out the scratches, i was going to 1200 wet n dry it then buff it with a da, but im rather scepticle about it.
As i have never done such a repair myself i cannot give any advise personally, but in the Haynes Caravan Manual it explains in detail how to remove such scratches, with details on tools to use etc etc, - AND you get loads of other advise on all caravan issues! - well worth the couple of quid or so you'll pay off ebay!
We hit a tree with our van last year and the window was badly scratched. We bought a bottle of scratch remover from the dealers and after some work the window looked like new. Suggest you use only the recommended brand.
1200 or even 1500 can be used to remove deep scratches but u must do it over a reasonable size area or u will see a distortion through the plastic when finished.
The window will be white and opaque when u are done with the wet & dry, u next polish the window with simple cheap T cut, thats all we use at work & all thats needed.
I never use a machine, but im not adverse to trying it one day.
If the scratches are light multi marks theres no point using the papers just use T cut & elbow grease.

I always use Duraglit, it takes a bit of elbow grease but IMO works wonders. I've never tried the proper polishes so I can't judge if they are better or not.
Fenwicks is the one to get, great on the windows and exceptionally good on those CD/DVD's that jump due to scratching! Works great and you would never know that it had been damaged! If you get the Windowize for the caravan get the special cleaning sponge as well, very good quality and made to work in harmony with Fenwicks!
