Hi

Just wondering what you all clean your caravan windows with? We have a 3 year old so as you can imagine there are smears on the windows. Any ideas what the best thing to use on the windows that does not take lots of work! can I use window cleaner? or will this make them worse?

Thanks

Vicky

The best thing altho rather expensive is autoglym  fast glass polish (especially formulated for plastic windows ),its very quick and easy to use ,you wipe it on it dries to a haze and you polish it off ,it does not contain any waxes that can smear , if you have athsma cover your mouth and nose when you use it !

Hi Vicky, we use MER car polish on the the outside and Mr Sheen on the inside it keeps them smear free and makes the van smell nice, Mr Sheen is the only polish that seems to work we have tried them all and none work as well, we also polish the awning windows with it inside and out it stops them sticking together when folded away and keeps the water marks off the outside..

Hi, I got a packet of window wipes in one of those 99p shops, they are brilliant for cleaning the caravan windows, especially if you have a small child (I have too) as they are really handy, and so inexpensive.  I have tried the more expensive Windowleen ones and they were hopeless.  Hope this helps.  Anne

Hi Vicky,

Don't blame you, no-body ever got rich by giving it away ;o)

There are loads of caravan cleaning fluids, polishes, waxes, detergents etc etc available for both the inside and the outside of your caravan, (the same as there are 100's of similar things available for cars), most of the stuff is expensive, and if you listen to the manufacturers or retailers is the best thing since sliced bread, but when all's said and done, these 'miracle products' will give no better result's than a squeeze of fairy in warm water and a cheap can of polish/window cleaner available from any supermarket.

every little helps, (especially when you have a 3year old constantly needing new clothes etc)

All the best.

Grub

dont use any type of household window cleaner as they have solvents in them which cause the plastic to cloud, you are best using washing up liquid and very hot water with a micro fibre cloth, i found out the hard way with the conservatory plastic windows  ouch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

our last caravan 12 years old was sold with better windows than our new van had when we collected it.

i always wash them with washing up liquid lots of water a sponge then rinse. when dry. i use polish, mr sheen, or pledge  on mirrors as well. the inside of the van i dont wash. i just use mr sheen  polish on them told my sister and she now does the same. they sparkle you can keep all the posh expensive makes.
