HI THERE, I KNOW THIS IS GOING TO SOUND REALLY DAFT BUT I SHUT DOWN MY CARAVAN IN OCTOBER LAST YEAR, UNPLUGGED BATTERY AND CAME HOME. NOW ABOUT TO START NEW SEASON SHOULD GO AND GET BATTERY BRING IT HOME AND RECHARGE IT OR WILL IT BE OK?
Battery should be okay depending how old it is ,Ideally the battery should be given a charge every threemonths or so, ive just came home after being away for the month of Feb and just like you i hadnt looked at the battery since we put it into storage at the end of Oct last year and the battery was fine all the way thru.
When putting your van in storage you should always take your battery off the van. Once a month or 6 weeks it should be charged. Use a low apperage charge or it can bugger it up.
Mine was OK having been left since last September. It's a three year old 110 amp bit of kit. Your car should give it a trickle charge as your going along on your first outing. If you're in any doubt give it a couple of hours beforehand on a charger.
By the way, posting in capitals is regarded as shouting in e-mail and internet etiquette. If you don't want to put peoples backs up, just post in upper and lower case.
