My caravan has a MLW of 1000 kilos and the tyres are 175 / 70 13 82T. So am I right in thinking that these are the wrong tyres then???
Yes up to a point you are correct as 82 equates to a load of 475kg per tyre but the 'T' is to carry that weight up to a speed of 118mph! which muddy's the water somewhat. Current thinking is to ignore the speed rating and down grade the weight rating by 10% which gives a number of 87/8 (545/560kg) or above for your van
Somewhere on these tyres you will find a max load at a max pressure and I would be interested to know what these figures are?
