I have just today managed to split the roof of our new (used) awning practicing putting it up - (a pole went though it) nightmare !, the split is in the roof and about 6 inches long.
Can anyone advise the best way to repair it, some sort or repair tape maybe ?
Hi i stiched ours then waterproofed the reapir ,I have no idea if that was the 'proper way' but it was before I found this site ,maybe it would be best to take it somewhere to be reapired ?
There is a website on here or maybe the CC that gives you advice on which Awning to go for, at the back of this site it gives you a list of companies that carry out Awning repairs, you will no doubt have somebody reasonably close to you, hope this helps and in the meantime I will look for the mentioned website,
best regards, Martin

Our previous awning started to tear at one of the corners - where the fabric was under stress.
I phoned Dorema and they posted me some small matching fabric scraps from their factory. I stitched the tear with a sewing machine (3-step zig-zag) Mr Ulti-mates then glued the repair patch onto the area and we sprayed it with Fabsil to waterproof it too.
I have since sold the awning, but have every confidence that the neat/discreet repair is still holding good.
