If you have not already been called please note you will recieve a call from the BP Gaslight hotline asking you to stop using and return your small 5Kg bottle to your local dealer. There was an issue with one in Europe but as a precaution they are calling all bottles in circulation back for checking.
SO anyone using the 5Kg bottle ONLY please take it and swap it for a new bottle. They will supply a new full bottle for free even if your's is almost empty.

Must say I've never heard of this type of gas. Has anyone else?

Maybe that is why no-one has replied, but thank you for the warning Morepower.

That's OK. The BP Gaslight bottles are a very lightweight gas bottle. They feel about 50% lighter than steel bottles and are see through so you can see how much gas is left and you can carry the small bottles round very easily. The full bottle weighs about the same as my BabyQ !! I would not be without it now. The link below only mentions the 10Kg but the 5 Kg bottles have been launched and we will be using both sizes for home and van later in the year.

yes, its a great idea, a plastic translucent gas bottle with an outer composite shell. It saves on weight considerably compared to a metal cylinder.

Unfortunately if you want to refill, the filling stations in the UK are very few and far bewteen at the mo, (and no, they arent the BP petrol stations) and if you tour abroad you cant refill UK empties from BP sites. There are seperate systems for UK, Germany, Scandinavia (incl Benelux) and France. They have definitely issed a trick here; with LPG being the same product across the EU why cant they stick butane (or propane) in a bottle which is Europe wide???!!! I've had to go with Calor for my new van.

If you are in the east mids you should have a few places already to get gas. We have 3 not too far. Rugby,Warwick,Loughborough. All close enough and I know there will be a couple of dealers even closer to us soon.

There are 2 in or near Bedford and only 1 in Milton Keynes which is suprising considering MK has over 200,000 population.
