hi all could anyone please help me out,my old selmar 12v 4 amp battery charger has given up, so i went out and got a challenge 8 amp with trickle and fast charge from argos.but looking at the book again there is a challenge 11 amp and it says for leisure batterys.my battery is a 110 amp so have i got the wrong charger plus is it best to trickle charge or fast charge.

8amp or 11amp is ok but the 8amp will just take a bit longer to charge.  However, if you can change the 8amp charger for an 11amp one that would be much better.

It is definitely better to trickle charge than fast charge.  Trickle charge is normally between 14-18 hours.

As said Trickle is better thatnfast charging and 8 amp will take a bit longer than 11amp charger.  One thing to check is if the battery is monitored by the charger.  By this I mean does the charger sense when the battery is fully charged and then stop charging.  If not then do not leave it charging more than needed as all you will do is boil the battery dry and damage it.  From memory the terminology is a "stepping" charger.
