Had a strange one on holiday. During a brief spell of rain one of the windows on our van started to leak at the top. Not seeing anything obviously wrong I stuck a length of "Gaffer Tape" along the top of the frame and the van. To my surprise this did not stop the leak, so I stuck another length along the top of the window (the hinge) this stopped the leak. We have a 2000 Elddis with Spietz (black frame) windows. Has anyone had an similar experiences
We had water running down the inside of one of our windows. The window had slipped down slightly out of the hinge at one side. A gentle but forceful shove got it back in place and stopped the leak. It was obvious when you looked at th van from the outside though as the window was lower at the bottom on one side.
Maybe it would be a good idea while it's a nice day to remove all the gaffer tape and slowly pour a little water from a bottle over the area and try to see exactly where it is coming in, If it is the window itself at fault then you'll need to discover why, is it broken? cracked? come off it's rail as said? etc.....or is it the seal around the plastic/rubber window 'frame'? If so this is easily remedied by the use of sealant/mastic.
If you find that it is the latter, then clicking Here will give you some advice on how to reseal the window and solve the problem.
Hi Cestria , it does sound like the window hanger may need resealing or the window seal needs resealing , could you post a picture of the window hanger ( hinge ) and window or email them to me so i can have a look bobanoba86 at hotmail.com note change the at for the correct symbol , and there's no spaces .
