Hi, if you want cheap, theres some 4.5 inch b/w at wollies for £20, but if you want a colour, go for an LCD if you can afford it, they use quite a bit less on 12V, but if you go for a normal CRT TV, you may find it cheaper to get a cheap TV and run it through an inverter,
As for how long it will go on a battery, it depends on how much you aim on using it, all day or just a couple of hours in the eve, if the latter it should be fine for 3 days, if its on all the time, i doubt if you would get a full day
