Hi all   does anybody out there understand the electrics on the AVONDALE EAGLES or any of the bird range,   ive looked at the instruction manual but it doesn't explain about the 2 switch's next to the water pump switch  i guess they are the 12v switch and the car or mains   but not sure which is which or what position they should be in for each operation

hopefully some one will be able to HELP

If it's like my Ulysses, it's all to work the 12 volt - the switch on the left is the pump, middle is lights and right is auxiliary (fridge, heating & water heater ignition, awning light etc). There is a separate switch for selecting between car, off or caravan.

Can't think offhand which way is on as I leave all mine in the on position most of the time, but they all go the same way.

Sorry I can't help then. It doesn't sound like any of the ones pictured in my handbook.

Can you trace the wiring back?

Hi
On my 2006 Eagle the left hand one is a rocker switch for (L) leisure ie the onboard battery or (C) car battery sorry if that sounds obvious, I think the middle one is to enable or disable the 12v supply not too sure now as I`ve used mains hook up each time been away in it.
Don`t know about yours but they have a daft way of wiring up the bed/toilet lights as the shower light pull switch has to activate the loo lighting thereby waking up her who must be obeyed when spending a midnight penny

Do you know I`ll have to dig the book of words out as I assume the (C) setting is when you are hooked up to the car using 12v and not using mains and obviously the (L) the onboard battery. As we only use mains hookups its not been an issue the car (and mains hookup) seem to charge the leisure battery automatically.Only problem we had you might remember my post is the middle front window looking at the front of the van the bottom left corner sticks out about 1" giving the impression its slightly open?So pursuing that on me next day off. I think the guy who built it was p*ssed up using the mastic gun as it seems everywhere other than that touchwood!.Have Avondale and/or your dealer been helpful with the faults ?

ours doesnt have any letters or symbols against the switches so haven't got a clue what position the switches should be in for each different purpose   its really frustrating.

our front window is the same as yours

the dealer has been really good sorting out the problems   but avondale are pretty crap they dont really seem to care ,we have had to fight them all the time to get problems sorted out.  so far we have had the shower cubicle re welded as it cracked on one of the seams due to the dividing wall between the kitchen and the shower not being plum thus there was a big gap at the top of the shower cubicle which allowed it to move   the door from the front into the bedroom fell of every time we went out in the van    no key for the safe   so they had to replace the safe  no security hitch lock

the front of the oven has fallen off and ive had to screw it back into place myself          water pipes in bathroom not connected so flooded bathroom cuboard

now all the blinds are having to be replaced as they have gone mouldy    you dont expect all  these problems when you are buying a top of the range van, but its not just avondale i think the majority of the uk manufactures are as bad as each other.

Hi angigled
Sorry didnt know you had no indication at all on the switches. Our van is in storage so can send you the info when we go down next. Cant for the life of me remember which is which and its not in the book of words.
Sorry to hear about the problems you are having, you at least expect the manufacturers to put right obvious faults or perhaps I`m being a bit naive You do all the research, tests, running around dealers and/or shows and still it goes ti*s up. I seem to have hassle with anything I buy in this country,
Hope it goes ok for you
Steve
