Went on a caravan club cl site at the  weekend 4 times electric supply cut off didn't throw our trip in the van  on Monday morning got up to yet again no power, packed up just hiching the van on and up comes the cl owner saying my caravan keeps blowing his trip in the house. when i arrived home contacted local caravan repairer who sent someone down to check the van electrics, he checked every think in the van, fridge, hot water ellement all sockets for lose wires, zig charger, telly even the extension lead. He said no faults could be found in my van this cost me £65.00 plus the site fees for the weekend so a expensive weekend away and i'm not happy.

Suggest you ring the CL owner and tell him he owes you £65 for getting your van checked unnecessarily.

I have wrote to him telling him just that. But you can bet your life on it he will just say it only happened when my van was pluged in. the thing is you have to check it out in case you do have a problem and it happens again the next time you go away. i will keep you posted as to any replies i get.

You were not near Skegness by any chance? had this problem on our site and got into a row with a 'casual' after unpluging his hook up. Point was the problem only started after he hooked up so you do tend to start with the obvious.

It turned out it was a major fault that took over 20 hours for the CEGB to sort out and nothing to do with any of us at all.

any fault inside the van should trip your breaker in the van,

the only reasons i can see for the main breaker tripping is either, over loading the circuit (which is not the case here) a fault in the lead for your caravan, which you say has been checked, or a fault in the cabling from the main breaker to the bollard.
