Hi all,
We bought our 1993 lunar sunbeam last year for a steal as it had previously been written off by the insurers. The new owner had repaired it but as he didnt seem to be an expert we have a small leak.
Basically the van appears to have hit a low barrier, smashing the front of the roof, the repair was carried out by removing the front few feet of roof and replacing it, creating a "join" on the roof towards the front. It looks like water is tracking down the join and appearing in the front top corners of the van. Its not a huge amount, but obviously left untreated it will get worse.
My husbands plan is to open up his join and replace the sheet he used, this time with a longer sheet to overlap, rather than butting up as the last guy did.
I suppose my question is, do you think there is a better wayof doing this? and if we left it how long do you think it would be before we had no alternative but to scrap the van?
We have had 12 months of use out of it without a problem and she only cost us £1500. We were quoted £2,000 for a professional fix!!!
