My water pump (on 1989 Eldis) has ceased to work. Can I replace the pump unit, only, or is it wiser to replace complet with pipe and wires. Or can I replace with another submersible altogether. Whale or Truma. Any advice will be appreciated. I think we burnt out ours, by running it dry, not long but enough! Thanks
Normally you just replace the pump and you just rejoin the wires. I'm not sure what you'rs is like though but you can buy the whole thing if you need it. It really depends if you can buy them separately and if you want to.

Thanks for the advice. Has anyone founf aneater way of folding away the pump and tube, when clearing up to go off site. Seems that the constant folding away and setting up must eventually cause a problem. Does the Whale pump fit into Carver water feed pipe and electric wiring?

Does the Whale pump fit into Carver water feed pipe and electric wiring? yes if you fold i it up with care and put it in the sink, this saves any damage by over bending.

------------- the only silly question is the one you do not ask.
Thanks for all help. I shall take the pump etc out, to see if it is practical to replace pump only or go for the lot. Money management forces me to look at all angles, the piping being sound, I shall try to get away with pump replacement only. Great this site. There is not a situation that someone has not come across before, so the help found in these pages keeps us camping. Cheers everyone.

I just curl my pump up in the sink before we leave , saves having to fold it up .
