Hi all, got a problem that i bet one of us can sort, after sighting up and connecting the aqua roll i had trouble driving air out of the system,on closer inspection i noticed that the hose connector thats attached to the van had perished and was sucking air.

As an emergency repair placed the caravan side of the water pipe direct into the aqua roll, drove the air out via an open tap in the sink and manual pumping from the caravan foot pump, the Carva now trips out after 10 seconds and the flow from the cold tap is twice as fast as the hot, is the valve connector that i by passed anything more than just a connector? or does it work as some sort of pressure relief valve, i have the old plastic one off the van now, and a new one ready to go back in and i can see no type of diaphragm in any of the units, just a strait through bore.

any ideas gang

We would have to know what type of valve connector you by-passed to know what it's made up off but I doubt it has anything more than a non-return valve.

There is defiantly a non-return valve in the Carver Cascade water heaters, on the MK2 it often causes the problem of slow water flow, however not to often on the Mk1.

Have you checked the battery voltage as this could have a bearing especially with the heater locking out, you need a bare minimum of 10.5v for it to work. Using the pump on low voltage could also effect the flow from the heater as it has more to do than pumping straight to the cold tap. Also it will make the heater pack up as it drags the voltage down further.
