Halogens are ok,
2 things to remember..
make sure the wattage is not too high as it could trip the electric supply on a campsite,
also halogens give off a lot of light, and this can be a nuisance
oh and thirdly you willobviosly need a hook up, so wild camping etc will be out of the question.
other option is a fan heater, again wath the wattage, and also remember they can be noisy.
I would prefer an oil filled radiator, quiet and no light or noise, but can be heavy.
The other option is a convector heater, probably least of the negative points in my opinion but once again wath the wattage,
