Hi all, my older an used to have a carver water filter but when we got our new one we were told they didn't use them any more.... so no filter but now i am getting a lot of wee black bits coming through, i've used milton to flush the system but to no avail, i am also getting a lot of black bits through my electric flush i have heard about top and tail by fenwicks , any use? and what can i use for the main water system??

Thanks for your input!

Bryan

We had lots of little black bits coming through our system, which doesn't have a filter, just like you described.  We tried the Puriclean in our system to get rid of it but it didn't work for us.  We have since found that the bits were coming from the blue tube on the water pump (the bit that goes in the aquaroll).  It was disgusting!!!  We bought a new water pump as ours was only working intermittantly but I would have replaced the blue tube if we hadn't got the new pump.

hi see  www.fenwicks.info  for top and tail for the top tank.the back bits in the cold water could be bits from the old filter use a milton flush and on your top tank use fenwicks fendox to flush out the black bits.[:o)]

We purchased another caravan a couple of weeks ago and it had been stood for a year so we cleaned everything before we took it out and flushed the pipes out and now we have black bits coming out of all the taps and in the loo and we thought it was just the bits that were breaking loose from all the pipes that we hadnt got off.

So not only does my van wobble weve got the black bits as well!!!

hi sorry to say but if the black bits are not coming from an old filter the it is mold or mould whichever way you say it needs cleaning out.milton works for us.you can still taste it sometimes the milton but at least it wont harm you.when our pump froze up and the defrosted you should have seen the black bits coming out and i clean our regular.[8D]

Helen

I would have agreed with your theory about the bits breaking off the pipes but for us we knew that wasn't the case as our pipes are see through and we can see they are clean.  I must admit i didn't think of the blue pipe as a source.  It was only when the pump started to go wrong and we had a close look at it we saw the problem the puriclean we used hadn't appeared to have touched it.

It looks like OH has got another job this weekend!!! the pipes are going to get another dose of milton and the blue pipe can have an extra dose!! Our pipes are clear plastic and I couldnt see anything in them either but as I said it hadnt been used for sometime and was filthy when i got it so it wouldnt surprise me if the previous owners havent done the pipes in the 2 years that they owned it but fortunately its gone to a good home and everybit sparkles now except the pipes!

Helen
