Okay you guys heres a question that is giving us some debate. We are considering laminating the floor in our caravan, seems a much more better way of keeping it squeaky clean than a grubby carpet, but we have been told that this is a bad idea as it holds the moisture! Okay you professionals, is this true?
i had this Question a few weeks back there was lots of points of view like when you go onto grass that has been cut, mud, my head was swimming, so in the end i went for carpet as it was warm and i could just hoover it.
We had vinyl plsnk fitted before the summer. Looks like wood flooring, is light and completely waterproof. Best thing I ever did. While we were in Spain I just swept it out and when I came back I swept it mopped it and it was like new again.

im thinking of putting that laminate effect lino in our caravan after this weekend the carpet gets in a right state with the mud and i have laminate in my home i love the cleanliness of it, if you spill something on a carpet it is in there forever, if you spill on the laminate you just wipe or sweep !!!

Do whats right and right will become of you ;-) Nichola xx
I have replaced the carpet in my van with Laminate flooring from Focus and am very pleased with the result. I have two mats with non-slip backings that came from Lidl bathroom sets to provide a warm surface for bare feet. The original plan was to replace the carpet with some 'left-over' vinyl from home but having removed the carpet there was insufficient vinyl so I used that in the washroom after fitting the laminate in the remainder of the van. Fitting the laminate was a much more involved job than the vinyl would have been but as it was on special offer, it was cheaper and more hardwearing. There is the matter of the extra weight but the difference between the carpet and the laminate is not enough to worry about unless you are in the habit of using every gram of your payload!
