not common but does happen from time to time, just luck i guess.some caravans have been found to have it on the first service.its like an ice cream wafer in constuction, thin ply on top thin ply on the bottom and a filling of foam.about 2 inch thick.the basic structure of the bonding of ply to foam has separated at the top and lifted.happens most where you use it most ie.in the kitchen area or doorway.
------------- the only silly question is the one you do not ask.
Do you mean the floor is spongy/saggy in front of the cooker?
This is a common area for delamination, ours went over a length of about 18 inches just in front of the cooker and sink. OH repaired it last year, he treated an area about 4 feet long and 2 feet wide to be sure he got it all.
Sounds like you have bad delamination. The bit where you feel the "dip" could be the join between 2 pieces of ply. The floor is too big to be only one piece. Once you fix it with the resin stuff it should be OK. Look underneath to see if there is a lot of movement in the bottom ply. If there is then it could benefit from some extra support too.
However the "dip" may just be the bit where the delam is worst. Ours felt like a "dip" at first too and it tool me a whole season to convince OH that we had delamination.
You will need one repair kit per 2 to 3 feet length of floor that has delaminated, depending on how "disintegrated" the polystyrene is. How long has it been like that? The longer you leave it the worse it will get.
My Lunar Lexon Ds is 20 months old and has gone in 2 places aswell as water ingress so bad that it fills the magazine storage bin in the door, black mould is comming through the rear wall and at times has been known to fill the shower tray to 1/2" in a bad rain storm, we leave the plug in to stop insect ingress. LOL
Oh dear!! I trust it will all be fixed under warranty?
We had some water ingress in our Sterling at 36 months, but we had taken a 60 month warranty so it was all covered, beautifully fixed by our dealer and now at 90 months is still fine.

We have a Avondale this has a spare wheel which has access to it just outside the bathroom door. Is that what you mean Ultimates
Yes, I thought it might have been Avondale. As you walk through, you can 'notice' the bit of floor where the wheel is stored can't you? (Or maybe only on the ones I've been in?).
