Hi Bob , so far i've calcalated a 155 R 13 tyre with a load index number of 78 , and carrying a load of 660kg should have 25psi in it .
And a 155 R 13 tyre with a load index number of 82 , and carrying a load of 660kg should have 27psi in it .
So your tyres should be one of these pressures . Hope it helps , if your still uncertain then i'd check with a tyre supplier or caravan shop .

Thanks Michael but I have already seen that chart and the problem is that it only seems to refer to 'trailer' tyres. Mine are car tyres (I believe). Also you need to know the load index number and at the present time I can't find one on the tyres. I need to get it out into the daylight and have a proper look. Thirdly, it would seem (now that I have found my caravan specs) that the weights in that chart for 155 tyres are a lot higher than the weight of my caravan.
If it had 145 tyres on as it is supposed to have (apparently) there would be no problem because the specs tell me the pressures for those, but it has 155 tyres. I don't know if that makes much difference to pressures.
To be very honest I'm starting to get peed off with it all. I bought the caravan to replace my tent in the hope it would give me a little more comfort and relaxation for my weekend camping/fishing trips but before I've even sat down in it I'm being scared to death with reports of overweight, underweight, noseweight, van tyre pressures, car tyre pressures, grease or not to grease, stabiliser or no stabiliser, weighbridges, police inspections and fines, points on my licence...it will be lengthy prison terms next!! I'd be better off in a B&B next to a lake.
Anyone wanna buy a caravan?

Thanks Michael...I will persevere...then I'll go B&B - lol.
I've never established whether there are two n's in caravanning, caravanner etc; but to me, one 'n' doesn't look right. I can't see a reason for two 'n's though so one 'n' could be correct
Wizard...my tyre markings are as follows:-
155R13C 85/83P
Max load single 515kg (1135lbs) at 350KPa (51psi) cold
Max load dual 487kg (1074lbs) at 350KPa (51psi) cold
What do you deduce from that, oh great one?

Wizard...more confusion...
I've been reading up on Gary's formula in another thread for working out the tyre pressures, and given the information I gave you above it does work out to 32.5psi
However, he also made a comment that reinforced tyres may be different pressures, and mine are reinforced.
He also said something about reducing the maximum load stated on the tyre by 10% for tyres used on caravans. If I do that and work out the formula again the pressures come to 36psi
Any comments please?
