top tip for all using the cassette toilet,do not add the blue fluid in the top where the waste goes in, always add it in the tube used for being emptied.the reason is it can damage the seal and make it hard to close the shutter.the seal can be lubricated with olive oil.[:o)]

I never thought loos could cause such discussion lol.

But here goes my twopence worth, I was given blue stuff to put into the header tank, don't know the make, but the dealer stated thats all I need.  Is it more complex than that???

And BTW Chalkie...I am not male and will be emptying the thing...through necessity realy lol.

...I'm also female, and get the job of emptying the portapotti!!!  We use the diamond blue stuff, but I'm thinking about trying Fenwicks top & tails when we need some more, just because it means only carrying one bottle with you.

We use the blue, we just carry a small bottle of it around, and re-fill it from the big bottle we keep at home, theres plenty for more than a week away, we dont use anything other than water in the top tank, as there is no mention of a flush addative in the instruction manual (the porta potti is from 1982!!!)

the normal cheepo toilet paper breaks down fine, but avoid the better quality velvet/quilted kind they dont seem to breakdown as well.
