Bought a van with a s3002sp heater. Didn't work so removed the cover and found the peizo broken and the pilot light lens poked out.
Assumed someone had done this to light it not knowing about the danger.
Ordered new piezo and lens. Fitted but would not light. Removed lens and adjusted spark.
Lite this time so put back together.
Wouldn't lite.
Seems it will only lite up with the lens removed so guessing its short on oxygen?
Where is the intake and could this be restricted or is there another reason?
Thanks

Hi
My S2003 p is sparking but at the left hand side of viewing window and will not fire pilot flame.   Took it to a mobile service guy but by time I got there id was sparking at the right hand side of viewing window and fired up pilot every time. Drove home (50 miles) and it fired OK but at 3pm has reverted to only sparking at left hand side of window. Any ideas?? Had been working OK before all this

Gordon

Seems to me the spark is somehow shorting to earth sometimes other than where it should, only real solution is fire out for investigation.
Obviously this can only be done by someone competent with gas appliances.

However and a bit of a long shot but there is maybe one thing you can try.
The ignition wire goes into a heatproof fibreglass sleeve and through the floor plate into the burner box under the van.
Try pushing/pulling the wire so you move the wire along about 6-8mm from where it is.
The idea is to move the wire slightly away from where it is now to make it further away from where it's shorting so it makes the spark gap over the burner an easier path to earth.
I've found where it passes through the floor plate is most suspect?

I have tried the "move wire" and the fire has fired every time since. I have ordered a smaller diam fibreglass sleeve and intend to slide this inside the existing cover.

Thanx for all comments and especially arc systems one.

Not got around to taking this further so using an electric heater still, any suggestions appreciated. Tried blowing the heater through with an air line and checked underneath for a blocked vent but all seems ok.
