somewhere in the van, there should be 2 fused spurs, one for the water heater & one for the room heater, find them. switch on the room heater one, then set the front slider on top of the heater to the elec & fan setting, its the one with a pic of a fan & lightning flash, then use the slide control to up the fan speed & temp, so turn it to max for now in a while it should warm up but its not immediate.

turn the room heater (the one on the wall) to max, turn the knob on the heater towards the curved lines setting, then turn the blower on, but just at no1, after about 10 - 15 mins you should feel heat coming through blowers, now you can increase blower speed, we usually leave it on no3, but you might need it a bit higher this weather, you will know if heater is working ok when you turn thermo on room heater you will hear a click.

thanks for your replys i have had it working but one more qustion do you have to have the gas fire on for it to work

as it is supposed to work of electric ,also do you have to have the carver 2 on for the hot water because that is also supposed to work from electric,

thanks moe

The fire only heats on gas with a 12v fan for the blown air, theres no mains electric heating.

The fan works by having it on 'A' for automatic or the other 'on' position is manual.

On manual you set the speed with the dial and it stays at that speed, on automatic you set the maximum speed and it speeds up and down within that set range dependent on the fires temperature.

With the water heater, if it has mains electric heating there will be a white plastic box on the end of the water tank which sticks out of the insulation jacket. If it's gas only heating the end of the tank has just the insulation showing.

My website and download the SL3002 manual, it's identical to yours with a different fire front

You can download the Cascade 2 manual here http://www.ukwebb.plus.com/cascade/

The water heater on mains uses a 'fused switched spur' that's the switch with a light. The one near the heater I guess will be for the water heater, if you can trace the wire leading from the back of the water tank and make sure the tanks full of water before switching on.

It takes about 45mins to fully heat a tank of cold water

you can always rely on your fellow caravaners/campers to help you out when in doubt, thats the beauty of this site, but were you told about the hospitality charge? make sure you have a fridge full of the good stuff just in case you meet up on site
