My caravan is in a dry barn but it can still feel damp inside on occasions. I put a bowl of salt at both ends and it does soak up the damp...in fact after a few months it was quite wet. The problem of course is that no matter what dampness salt or any other crystals take out of the air, it still gets replaced with more damp.
Other than a heater on a low setting, or maybe a humidifier, but that works on the same principle as salt, I don't think there is any way of eliminating it. I am loathe to leave the vents open because that can give access to mice and even rats.
Damp is condensation (unless the caravan is leaking). Warm inside v cold outside = damp inside. So sunny days and cold nights is an ideal recipe for damp.
If the caravan is in your driveway or easily accessible on a regular basis just open the doors and windows on a dry day and give it an airing.
