got a couple of niggly dents on the awning side of the caravan.Nothing major but i know they are there and would like to have them removed.does anyone know if they can be succesfully pulled out at a reasonable price. i was talking to a dealer yesterday and he reckons they can be removed as long as they are on a flat/smooth panel as ours is.
anyone got any experience of this work and were the results satisfactory ?
not had work done on caravans, but have on cars, and the dent wasnt even noticable afterwards, should be easier on a van, as you say, its a flat panel. they use a big sucker type thing to pull it out with if its only small.
it all depends on what type of dent it is tbh and how much memory there is ie a little rounded dent has more chance of being removed succesfully without paint than a pointed dent of the same size
also it is actually harder on a van as the ally panel is glued to the polly(unless it an old coach built van or a van royce) behind whereas a car has a big air gap behind it where you can use dollys and a planishing hammer
ive been doing body work on cars for 15 years and caravans for 8 years i know which are easier to work on

never argue with an idiot, they will bring you down to their level and beat you on experience
If the panel has stretched then it is a problem. The extra material has to co somewhere. A lot of the dents you get on cars repaired with a sucker are on curved areas which have popped inside out and can just be popped back in place. A flat panel will need shrinking back. Much harder to do without breaking the paint.
I do not believe it is possible to remove dents on the alloy composite panels of caravans. The alloy is rigid only because it is glued to, and supported by, the foam interior of the panel.
I have a couple of dents in my 'van caused by a major dealer when servicing it. Apart from a new panel I have never found a cure!
