Hello All

I'm a newbie at this lark and I've been doing some routine maintenence on our van. I took a wheel off to change tyre valves and came across this very suspicious sight.

Is this some sort of rubber gasket or collar? Any ideas - is it dangerous? and if anyone should know what this might be what is the likely cost to repair.

Sincere regards

Charles aka Blueheaven

Has your van been at the bottom of the sea, it looks bloody rusty, anyway as Michael says it looks like the rubber torque bushes look worn out but im concerned about the angle of the axle stub where it leaves the axle tube this wants some looking at probably by a dealer , not sure if you can change them without special tools, let us know what happens.regards S/C

Thanx for the comments Gentlemen.

Yes the van has spent the last 6 years on a permanent pitch by the seaside (150 yards away) and yes I think I should have a dealer look at it before we have our first trip to Callendar at Easter.

Any thoughts on how I could treat the underside - or just a good (but gentle)  pressure spray (to get rid of salt) then a light smear of a Vaseline type product.

Regards

Charles aka Blueheaven

You can get the axle re-bushed, but you will have to send it back to Al-ko.

looks like its stood so long the the suspension rubbers have collapsed, looking at the pictures the top rubber is squashed forward and the bottom rubber is squashed out at the bottom. without the wheel on the arm should slope down, not straight out as in the picture.   [:(]
