HI there,
I'm looking for a tent smaller than my Icarus 500 for 2 night stays and i've been on ebay and come across a Scafell Rock Eclipse 4 for £28.99 plus £4.99 p&p.
Seems like a bargain to me. Does anyone know anything about them of have one as I can't find much info about them?
Or if not any good, any recomendations for a smaller, quicker to pitch tent.
Thanks, Louise

These are the ones B&Q were selling off a few weeks back (at one point for £15 to clear, although I think 4 times this prior to the sale). Friends of ours bought one in the sale and have already camped in it. They seem pleased. Haven't seen it myself. Gelert have a similar one sold under their own branding with windows in the porch area. I don't know whether there are any other differences...

Hi there,
Thanks for that! It looks like the Gelert Tornado 4 but without a window, not that we're notheres about a window for short stays!
What do you think, do you reckon it's worth having for the money. Will it be quicker to pitch etc.
------------- Thanks Louise

We have a low dome (Coleman Rock Springs 4) and its a quick pitch as the poles aren't so long and there are fewer guying points. Not pitched an Icarus so no idea how long that takes. We use ours as an overnight tent when we we want to stop-off on route to a main camp site with either of our bigger tents. A small pack size is then useful as is the quick pitch time. It could be useful as an emergency tent if you have a problem with the Icarus.
For that sort of money, you could always take the risk...

We've got the Eclipse 6. It's easy to pitch (only three poles) and fine for 4 of us (wouldn't fit 6 air beds). It's not standing height, and the front bit is more of a porch than a living area (groundsheet only attached to bedroom pod, so a gap at the bottom of the flysheet) but otherwise it's great, and fine for weekends.
