Finn boy just make sure you double peg the very front pegging point ( the one in the middle of the door) This area has a tendancy to to lift and you end up catching your toes on it as you kinda crawl in. Difficult to explain, but hope you understand
Yep, I know exactly what you mean, our old Jersey M used to do the same.
I used a Delta peg to keep it flush and that worked great.
I know its not what the Deltas are designed for (guy lines only) but its design kept the entry on the Outwell flush to the floor and never pulled out.
Hopefully I can use the same tactic here.
Thanks for the info shelldean!

The updated decathlon website has put the tents back as they were before.
Meanwhile... The base XL that I ordered, to be on the , is on it's way.
Indeed thay have. Some tents out of stock (store dependant) but good to see the tents back on again!
Glad to hear the XL is on its way, thats a monster (in a good way!) of a tent! Are you going to use it as a communal living area attached to the BS's etc?
There aught to be a Quechua meet up one year. A campsite wouldn't know what hit it.... one minute normal... 20 minutes later a town has grown up!

The Quechua XL's are for a communal shelter for a group of us at a small festival We have a Coleman event shelter, which is great but it is very heavy and takes at least two people (and preferably no wind) to put it up. Also, there was talk about not allowing them next year, because of the space they take up. The Base XLs can be disguised as tents (shhh!) they are fairly easy to transport and I can put them up on my own, to secure our spot, if i am the advance guard. :)
The quechuas are a better shelter than the coleman if it's raining and they don't seem to get over hot when it's sunny. We can't sit round my little boden firepit in them though :(
Without being nosey, may I ask what sort of festivals you guys go to?
Ive never been to any and im gleaning info from people as I want to attend some next year with my lad. Just want to try new things, midlife crisis I think!

Shhh.. Last time I posted a cunning plan, on another website, one of the organisers spotted it.
My children do Glastonbury and their children love it but it is huge! Most of the Dorset festivals seem to be laid back and child friendly. It depends what your interests are and if it is music you are going for, what your tastes are.
Don't forget to leave a review of all tents you've used, for a chance to win fantastic prizes
To be honest sonja, any child friendly festival would be ok by me. Im not even excluding non music ones, arts and craft fairs/ events etc.
Anyway...
The Tent arrived today!
Just threw it up in the garden for a quick look. The guys arent tied one, but thats not a problem.
Only tiny issue is a 2mm long nick in the fabric at the bottom of the tent where you enter. A non issue as that part of the tent will see some wear and tear anyway. Its in that "loop" that is pegged down at the very bottom/front of the tent. The bit you tend to trip over in small popups!lol
There is also a tiny bit of dirt on the tent... yet the guys werent fitted and the tent was packed "in that way" that only a factory packed tent ever is!lol So perhaps the dirt got on it at the factory, who knows? And we are talking about a TINY smear of dirt... most people wouldn't even have noticed it.
So, all in all really chuffed and looking forward to trying her out in Wales perhaps near Christmas.
Will put a pic up later.

i would've!
i always look for perfection when stuff is new :) I don't know what the conditions are like where the tents are made but as they don't have an ethical credentials i expect they are a bit grubby and possibly hazardous to tents.
The festival that is most highly spoken of is The Larmer Tree. I haven't been myself but i would put it top of my list of things i would like to do.
Glad to know im not the only person that goes over a tent with a fine tooth combe sonja!
It all looks ok and the dirt smear wiped off so I think my son and I will garden camp in it next weekend! My son says its huge inside, I suppose for such a tent it is!!
Ill google The Larmer Tree festival, thanks!

Drat... that festival is on from 11-15 July next year... and my son is still at school on those dates.
My children take their children out of school for a couple of days for glastonbury.
the other family friendly festival is Beautiful Days, if you are a Levellers fan.
Towersey Village and Greenbelt were in the school holidays this year. I went to Towersey for the evening and the atmosphere was very good.. Plus it had flush toilets!

and I dont know about your childs school but mine aren't doing lessons by this point in the term, this is one of the couple of time I wouldn't worry about taking the kids out, the other is the last few days before christmas.
