Cheers sounds good to me.
We do stay at Croyde sometimes for surfing but thankfully they are 11mx7m so that would be covered as well :)

Yep more of an off the way kind of camper (hmm still like a pub within a couple of miles though if possible ;).
With the little one I think that kind of thing will have to stop though (for a little while).

Will do a search for more info regarding baby equipment for camping.
Prob. still going to go with Montana but looking at it last night I maybe able to pitch it myself if needed by doing a side at a time rather than a hoop at a time...

Cheers for the help. Great site!!!!

Hi Supermoocow

There are definitely people on here who've pitched the Montana singlehandedly so I'd say go for it.

We haven't had trouble with pitch sizes so far but like you we avoid the commercial sites.  There are plenty to choose from which give you the practical facilities like a washing machine (very handy with kids) and baby washing without all the "entertainment" and regimented pitches.  In fact, a number of site owners have complimented us on the tent and say it's easier for them to accomodate because it's rectangular rather than going off in all directions.

There is 10% off tents at Blacks online this weekend, by the way, which makes the Montana 6 £301.94 inc carriage.

I agree with some of the previous comments about commercial holiday parks, that they pack you in like sardines. Well to me, this is never good enough, the vast majority of family / small business type of campsites give you ample space to pitch a Montana 6 plus even a gazebo if you wanted it.

The type of tent that many campsite owners bemoan are those "megadome" types with multiple bedroom pods sticking out all over the place, and therefore understandably place them on two pitches together. The Montana 6, although a very spacious tent is generally considered a "normal" (if there is such a thing) sized family tent and should be fine almost anywhere.
