I think that these are the world famous Outwell wiring loom. You use them for your lamp cable, and hang the lamp from the ring in the centre.
Appeals especially to neatfreaks, like my Mrs Happy. But they do keep trailing cables to a minumum.
Aha...yup, blindingly obvious when someone explains to you! Presumably it limits you extremely as to where you position your EHU unit though? (One real advantage of a non-SIG tent is that your EHU can come in just about anywhere.)

Val as far as I know there are three access points for ehu to come in monty, one at pod end , one about middle on side and another at front, I might be wrong though as I dont use ehu but I am sure I have noticed them

If the answer may offend you then dont ask the question in the first place !!
Only one in our 2007 Montana 6 in the same position as the 2006 by the porch where the cable velcros are. Really lets it down as three would be great, we have three on our Cantera.
As has already been mentioned it is best to open the doors up which lets the air in,also I found if one person pulls up on the front guy ropes and another goes through the front door and lifts the poles up to the vertical, working your way to the rear it is much easier.
Regarding the pins into the bottom of the poles, make sure the tent is central over the poles before lifting it.It is nearly impossible to slide it along in the upright position
Hope this helps

PS I am unfortunately selling mine as we are returning to a campervan.See my advert if anyone is interested.
