I'm not sure if I would trust one of those Liddenham.

I wonder how it connects to the towball to stop it slipping around.

I think if I already had the towbar I would rather risk towing a trailer.

Dave

We have a huge Cabanon frame tent & Skoda Fabia estate and 2 kids!!

We started off with just the car. Was very tight even before we had all the kit we have now. Then we bought a roof box. This year we inherited a trailer from someone very kind on here.

The roof box we had was the Halford 280?Litre one (the smallest). We did manage our trips like this with the sleeping bags, deckschairs, etc uptop but the car was still a squeeze. Packing to go and come home was a bit of a krypton Factor Challenge.

We have just returrned from our first trip with the trailer and we didnt bother with the roof box. It was slightly easier but still a squeeze. So next time we will also take the roof box and hope to travel in comfort (no washing up bowl on my lap) for the first time ever on a camping holiday.

If you go for a roof box I would recommend splashing out on the biggest one available. Halford do a 500+Litre on which can carry upto 75kg.  If we get another roof box, as long as that would fit the car OK thats the one I would spalsh out on. Always buy bigger than what you actually think you need.

The same if you end buying a trailer. Buy bigger than what you anticipate will do the job!!

Sorry to tell you but you will probably end up with both eventually.

They have them in stock in many Halfords stores, if you are interested in seeing one in the flesh. We are very impressed with them, and would have one ourselves if we didn't take everything 'cept the kitchen sink, since you don't have to stick to towing speeds with these.

We have a Kia Sedona and with the rear seats out we fit in everything but the kitchen sink and still have room for more.

We have a trailer and we had to go and buy the extension sides for it, it seems never ending, the trailer is not that big erde 122 (but as we were given it were not complaining) we put the tent, chairs, tables, kitchen stuff etc in the trailer, and sleeping bags/beds, clothes in the car but that always seems full to the brim (we have only ever been away for 2/3 days but we have a 1st week trip next week(7th) so god knows how its all going in, (maybe the top box is next) after we changed the car to an estate.

Started with just the estate car, then the roofbox, and then the trailer with hard top.

And now the two children are getting bigger/heavier........what next?
