Hi

Thanks for all that, as i said were in talks but early days yet. They do have a good range but we would be looking at a smaller selection if we can do a deal with them.

If we do sort this out we may have a small dealer net work of 4-5 dealers across the UK so it may not be to far to travel to see one.

Re prices, well they are right up there. If you say £1000 or more in some cases, they will last and last though.

Ill keep you all posted as things move on.

Regards

Gary Cross

We saw two up close in Castlerigg Hall 2 weeks ago. Very well made tents. Being nosey I looked at the big model and it was really roomy inside with 2 sleeping pods at the back and lots of living space and a great canopy incorporating the flysheet. The owners had like a covered patio area beyond the inside of the tent and had 2 loungers sitting in this area. It really looked a lovely tent.

The other tent was smaller but I didnt really go near that one as the owners were a bit strange and gave me the creeps!!

Hey Dezzie, I was at Castlerigg 2 weeks ago, you sure it wasn't my Cabanon Barbados you sneaked a look in?........ or was me and my missus the 'Creepy' ones?

I must have missed this thread! I posted on the 'those dutch tents' thread enquiring about the likelyhood of a UK supplier, and are delighted to hear that gary is considering stocking these tents!

With the apparent success of the polycotton models in 2007, it seems as though the 'quality' end of the market is growing and i'm sure there would be demand for the De Waard tents in the UK!

I am definitely in the market for such a tent, but deciding between a Karsten or De Waard will be difficult!

Hi Gary.
I am sure there will be a place in the UK market for another top quality tent.My self the style will not suit my personnel needs but the modern experienced tent camper with the financial means would put the De waard at the top of their list.
Problem is display for you chaps, they are a lot of money to leave outside on display.
Best of luck if you take them on.
Regards
Rex

Hi all.

Looks like its not going to be possible.

The DeWaard tents are made and sold in Holland and it looks like it wouldnt be possible to import them and be able to sell them for the same price they are sold for in Holland.

Im still looking for a top quality canvas/cotton tent thats not in the UK as yet so if anyone has any ideas then let us know.

Regards

Gary

Be careful here. As far as I am aware Esvo are nothing whatsoever to do with De Waard. The brothers situation refers to Randstad who manufacture tents of a similar design, quality and price to De Waard.  Esvo are a "less expensive" version though still good tents compared with the majority of plastic stuff . The "Those Dutch Tents" thread explains it all.
