I have a Monty 12 with a canopy and it is fantastic.

I think If I'd had Monty 6 I would probably like extension AND canopy.

Reason for this:-

While we all love our Montys, you will start to look for another tent for weekends!!!

This might sound daft now but you WILL want a quick pitch tent for 1 or 2 nights.

Question is, would you like a smaller tent but use the canopy as well???

I know I would but thats my thinking now. If I bought an Indiana 6 maybe? Side canopy would be useful...............

Go on, get them both.

Monty 6 is a fab tent.Wish I had bought it instead of Monty 12.

Hi billericaylady,

I spent weeks deciding on the 6 or the 12.

For some reason, I felt I wanted to walk into the tent from the front end and not the side!!! Daft I know. So I favored the 6 for that reason.

Then we thought if we had something a bit bigger, we could have friends to come with us. Which would require more pods. (Which they did, by the shed full!!! Which was fab really)

But I still lust after the Monty 6 and I think I always will. It's just a super looking tent.I love the front extension also.

I think if your stuck between 2, you'll always regret not getting the other one.

The 12 is a large tent to put up. And far too big for weekends. It is great though dont get me wrong. But once you have that. plus the day tent, plus the canopy, plus the windbreak.......................not much room left on pitch

Why do you like the 6?

Hi Kat,

we bought the 6 as we didnt want something too big if just myself and Hubby were camping but big enough if my Teenagers decide to go with us which may not be very often now they are 17 and 18. iI love the CArpet really cosy , only used it once but hoping to go away for a few days again soon .

Hi rickit.

Knowing you have had a look at the 2008 Outwell stuff, whats the side extension and will it fit the Monty 12??????

If it will fit, I'll put in planning permission to the council now! HA HA. (And get a buyer for the Oklahoma Day Tent and canopy)

I've got flu at the moment so I'm spending a lot of time in bed dreaming of tents and when I can go camping next!!!

I guess you cant wait to try out your new tent eh?

Hi Kathryn007, hope you get well soon. Dont get our new tent to Feb / March 08 but still cant wait. I would think the side extension will fit as they are made to fit the Vermont range and also fit the Monty's.
