Cabanon for me, ours has held its own in many different weather conditions. Love it. Looking to upsize now.

Have no complaints with any of the tents I've owned, vango force 10 in the 70s, little 2 man eurohike, still going strong after 13 years, 4 x wynnsters with no probs especially like the strength of the structure of the Antares 13 and the sunncamp frame tent, all great tents, touch wood they'll stay like that too!

Wynnster for me, great value for money. I can only comment on the tents i've owned so no doubt the Karstens that you pay a fortune for are better but i'll go for Wynnster again when we have to replace ours

It all depends on what your camping needs are. If I had the budget, I would have a De Waard -I love canvas tents! But both budget and storage space/weight means that I have to stick with the manmade ones.

SO within that group I have gone for high spec fabrics and alloy poles. Therefroe we have a Vango QUest 600 as our big tent for long hols ans this is a near perfect tent for us- light, strong, quick toput up, has withstood severe weather without flinching and has a lay outthatsuits us. We have a Vaude Opera as our weekend tent and the only down side with this is that there are no storm flaps so its a bit draughty - so I am making a groundsheet with stand-up edges to sit inside the flysheet and close that gap!

And my OH has a Coleman Adrenaline 3 for more simple camping such as when he goes fossilling.

Tend to agree with foggers - it all depends on your needs and your wallet.

My polycotton Bear Lake is excellent and appears a good compromise between nylon and canvas. However, I also rate my nylon Venture 500. If I won the lottery what would I buy - I'd stick to what I've got. That's the advantage of doing good research and buying what you really want - it saves money in the long run.

After saying that - I do like the look of the new Vango polycotton range for 2008.
