Most people would advise seeing the tent in the flesh first. i would advise it myself if at all possible. but we only have one decent camping shop in our area, and they never had the tents I wanted on display.
But, to be honest every tent I've ever bought , and there have been quite a few, i have only seen one in the flesh. it was our very first one, a canvas frame tent, ten years ago.It was about £400 and is still going strong, my sister bought it off me a year later when we bought a caravan.
maybe I have been very lucky in my choices, but not one of them has been a baddun.
All of my tents, except the first one, have been last years model or bought in a sale online. i don't see the need to have this years model if last years is half the price.
i know what style I like, what features I want, and i've learnt over the years to check everything out on the net for reviews and best price, before buying.
With the global, although I can't find any reviews here, I already knew that the eden is top quality, both made by sunncamp and in the same (premier or platinum, whatever they call it ) range, but the global has the steel poles and the eden is fibreglass.
It is all resting on my shoulders with my friends too. They aren't really bothered whether the bedrooms are seperate or not. there's no real privacy anyway when they are side by side, whether seperate or not. And no, they havent opened it out to look yet. You could always give them a ring and ask?

We put the tent up in pouring rain on Friday . They hadn't had it out of the box to check anything, because they wouldn't know what they were supposed to be checking for.
anyway, when I arrived they had threaded the poles in and it was ready to raise. No problem at all. Everything was straight and square. It was pitched perfectly first time.
The bedroom is one big inner with a toggle in curtain to divide it in the middle. They had 2 double airbeds in it, with a gap between them, and plenty of room. A double row of storage pockets in the centre of the inner tent. About 8 pockets I think.
The wardrobe side extension was a bit confusing. It is just an extension, with a door to close it off from the main tent. Why its called a wardrobe I don't know? there was no hanging rail or shelves or anything provided. There were 3 rings on the roof part of it, but seemed to serve no purpose. The bucket was put in there and some plastic boxes with clothes in.
Plenty of windows all round, curtains roll up from the bottom, on the idside. and the tent was nice and light and airy. The quality was every bit as good as the Eden. It was warm and cosy inside, it has a silver groundsheet which is heat reflective. It rained heavily for a few hours, all dry inside. The doors have bug mesh and when the sun came out on saturday it was well ventilated. My friends were very pleased with it and happy that it was easy to put up, and dismantled it themselves too. Also quick and easy to do.
I thought that my friends were winding me up when they said, its a lovely tent but would be nicer if it had a porch?
There was no sun canopy with it. They have to get on to outdoor megastore tomorrow to find out what happened with that.
