Does the Gelert Stratus have a SIG, and is this important to you?  I have a Gelert tent and can vouch for its quality and integrity, however I'm intrigued to know why you're not keen on the Sunncamp Evolutions.  The Evo 400 I saw the other day in some pretty windy conditions was as solid as a rock and looked pretty easy to put up.

I looked at the Gelert Stratus the other day and really liked it. It was four berth tunnel shape. It looked incredibly easy to put up. I also liked the dark green colour (something about blending in with the countryside!)

I was just a bit concerned because the sleeping area, although plenty for just daughter and I (who it usually is on short breaks to the coast) it would be a bit cramped if daddy wanted to join us (which is slighly possible).

The guy where I looked at said I could have the actual one on display for £70. I was wary because someone on here said that they degrade a bit when they have been up on show for a while at sales sites. I went home and saw I could buy brand new for £80. I was thinking of going back and being cheeky and offering £60!

The Stratus I looked at a ground sheet in the living area that sort of tipped up at the edges and was held in place by toggles to the side panels. Thats not a sig is it, but good enough for me. I kept going back to look at it again and again, which i didn't with other tents. I reckon thats a good sign with any purchase you are considering.

Hi Clare

Thanks for your response. No SIG is not important, and it may be silly but I didn't like the Sunncamp Evolution because I want a tent with a door with poles to give a bit of shade outside and stop light rain coming in. Living area also looks a little small, but hard to tell from the picture. Only thing putting me of is that ideally I'd like a 5/6 man, with the option of removing one bedroom for increased living area, but I want one that is easy to put up and would be possible to do by myself, or with minimal help, and quickly. Am I just asking too much?

Neelie, its supposed to be 4 berth, was it really that small? was it the 3 or the 4? They also do a 4 DLX which I think is a bit bigger. My kids are smal but very active sleepers so I need a roomy sleeping area otherwise I'll spend the night getting kicked!

Samyjane, yeah I understand the desire for a porch like that.  The width of the bedroom in the DLX is 270cms which is ample room for two double blowup beds.

Hi samyjane... are you still looking? I have just seen on another thread a coleman columbus which is a 4man for £149 at wild day. It is a polycotton tent so it looks like a good buy to me... worth a look?

Hi Wendywoo!

Where did you get the Kyham windbreak and where can I see one? We are also hopefully getting a Nevada M from Kingsmuir next week and sounds like it would be useful for us as we are looking for some kind of canopy.

Sorry only just saw this. I wouldn't want to sleep more than two in it to be honest. I thought it looked a lovely simple and easy tent to put up though and was very tempted. It was definitely the 4 berth one. There was 3 berth pitched next to it and I wouldn't want to share that with anyone to be honest. MInd you I have a 6ft bed at home which I often get to myself so maybe I'm a bit spoiled.
