OH wants the Norfolk for the material, as he feels it will be better for us than the vermont.I like the look of the vermont but wont buy one till i've seen one up so i think it will now probably be the norfolk as have seen one of these in highbridge.Montana is just to small for us as well and after reading other messages i am defo going to be a glamper not a camper as like my space and creature comforts.
i just want a tent be it norfolk or vermont. the confusion continues.

When we were looking to buy our new tent we went to view tent displays at Somerset Caravans (they also have tents and camping equipment), Highbridge Caravans and Taunton Leisure, hope this helps. We saw our new tent at Highbridge but after searching around on the internet got it quite abit cheaper.
Hairywol, Am so confused as went and looked a monty visualized it as a vermont and even took a tape measure and defo liked the size it would give as a vermont ,and liked the fact that you can open it up.But still haven't seen it up so on the basis of that will probably end up going for the norfolk only because have seen that up.
But i am going to kent for a couple of days end of next week and thanks to Skippy.v70 will drop into camping and leisure world so fingers crossed will at last get see the vermont up.
Thanks caris but have been to all of your suggestions and the only one that had the vermont had taken it down b4 we got there think we've left the looking a bit late.
Both are excellent tents and neither of them are what you would describe as "small". I'm sure you'll enjoy whichever one you eventually choose.
One last point: I like a bedroom you can stand up in for dressing and changing (then I don't have to close the doors and windows first. Have you tried going into the bedrooms of the Monty (identical to Vermont) and the Norfolk and zipping them up behind you to see how they would cope?
Haven't tried the bedrooms out yet never even thought about it either and the OH is 6ft3 so will have to take another look, hopefully they'll have them both up at the Camping and Leisure World when i go and we can test the bedrooms out then
Thanks again your a great source of infofor newbies like me

Thanks Sue we ended up getting from a place just up the road so that if there is anything wrong we can drive the 45mins back there and demand a new one but fingers crossed it will be fine
Just trying to decide where to go this weekend have managed to persuade OH(not that it took much) have borrowed beds from friends ordered really cheap chairs off ebay as will deliever tomorrow just need a table and were set for this time anyhow.
Thinking of forest of dean as for first attempt of putting up tent don't want to be encroaching on someone elses pitch so bracelands seems a good bet.
Does the vermont had the mesh that zips fully around the doors with no gaps? ( we have a small dog that likes to escape ) and also does the front door have a mesh option? sorry for all the questions, we have just bought the monty 6 with extention, love the layout but now feel we may have made a mistake!!! after seeing all the reviews on the vermont L i feel it may have been the better one to go for.
any advice would be very helpful thanks

Hi kevnallie sorry but can't answer as we bought the norfolk lake instead of the vermont but i'm sure if you start a new thread someone may answer as i've found this forum greatfor answering my question and i think hairywol has a vermont.
The side doors have full mesh which zips all the way round (the outer parts of the doors are open at the bottom and only zip down each side). They keep our boxer in so would be fine for a smaller dog. The outer front door does not have any mesh and a dog could escape under the flysheet as the front porch only has a bathtub groundsheet. However, the inner porch door (into the main living area) is fully zipped and keeps animals in (or out!).
Although we've now changed over to a caravan we love our Vermont XL and think the layout is still the best on the market.
Thankyou both for your help, we have decided on the Vermont L, very excited now, just cant wait to get it set up!
We loved the layout of the Montana 6, but we would have wanted to use the extention and we were quite concerned that everytime the wind picks up we would be rushing out to take it down, which kind of defeats the object of having something to stop the rain coming in. At leasts with the Vermont it gives us everything the montana would, and more, but with the added benifit of an enclosed large porch, and then the living area stays nice and dry.
Just wish it was not October, spring seems so far away
I suggest you give Attwoolls a call & see if thy've got the tent you're after erected in their display. www.attwoolls.co.uk
To find them is easy. Travelling northbound on the M5, leave the motorway at J13, take first exit on roundabout, go to A38 roundabout & take a right onto A38 heading towards Goucester, Attwoolls is about one minute from this roundabout on your right. They have a superb display & provide an excellent customer service
