Well Lentrott, I think we have a lot in common, my first canvas tent that i bought was also a guadaloupe! although I grew up hating camping in vango force tents! (they are my most cherished tents now though!)
Anyway back to topic, when I purchased the VG I arranged the delivery with UPS, cost about £150, the person I bought it from was brilliant , I was rubbish! It arrived with damaged packaging, luckily tent fine!
Since then dangerously I feel more confident using Markplaats! The Dutch are brilliant, as I guess you already know!
When the VG arrived I didn't like the plain dividing curtain (spoilt ) so I looked for stripey groovy curtains and found them on MP"s, the guy was fab and sorted all the details and had a paypal account!
Buying the "mini me" the guy has also sorted shipping , he gave me a choice of DHL, UPS and someone else! (cant remember) cost 240 euros ( tent and shipping), I dont know whether I have paid over the odds?
I always approach someone on `MP by asking if they would be willing to sell to someone in Uk. I donyt know why the Dutch are such amazing linguists, but so far they have all replied in very good english.
HAVE TO SAY MARKTPLAATS IS TO BE AVOIDED!!!!!TOO MUCH BEAUTIFUL CANVAS!!!!!!!!
Have really enjoyed reading the "those dutch tents" thread!!!!

You got an American accent Freeby? All my sons friends do when they try to speak English :)
Angie
If there's anything I am adamant to avoid it's sounding American. I speak my soft "R" and finish my sentences audible and do not swallow half of it. My "A" is an "A" and not an "Ai" and I pronounce isn't instead of "Ain't".
The deterioration of the English Language through emigration and intermixing with other dialects in overseas former "colonies" in the UK id disturbing to me and I see it as distorting the original language even though it might be a valid language or the America's or Australia.
Problem is: South Africa's Dutch is about the same as we spoke in Holland during the 17th & 18th century and we in Holland have deteriorated our own language under American influence. As you will surely agree, The Netherlands seem a mirror of American culture. Music, food, attitude, economics and even gang culture complete with gestures, slang and colours are a complete mimic of a foreign subculture and that's why I really do not like today's Dutch Culture.
But I'll keep my can of worms closed for now, Angie...
I think the kids speak with an American accent though subtitled USA tv shows
OH speaks perfect English with a Dutch accent. I speak crappy Dutch with an English accent lol
You have a soft G? Must be a from the south then :) I was taught with a hard G
