I'll hopefully find out this weekend, we are off to Camber sands for 3 nights on one of the £2 deals out of the newspaper.

I'll take some pictures & try to write up a report when we get back.

Sorry to say we couldn't use the Gilert Horizon porch over the weekend, the whole weekend was a complet disaster. The wind was a lot stronger than predicted & comming from just about everywhere. We managed to get the Vango Tigris 800 up without too many problems, the Horizon porch was fitted to the side with very little gaps between the porch & tent & all looked good. Whilst getting everything set up inside the pegs in the rings at the bottom of the Horizon porch poles started to pull out of the ground, & it was only the guy lines stopping it from blowing away into the distence. Even after double pegging with longer & stronger pegs it was still started to come out again so we decided to take the porch down. Next morning it was bright & no wind but before we could put the porch up again our son slipped on some wet grass & broke his ankle so we spent the rest of the time running back & forth to the hospital & only sleeping in the tent over night. Our son was still in hospital when we should have been packing up but we managed to get the site to extend our stay for another 3 nights. Our son came out of hospital later that afternoon still in a lot of pain & was unable to get up & down off the floor so was unable to use the tent he was also feeling to rough to travel home & with the site not willing to offer us anything less than a full week for £583 we booked into a motel for a couple of nights. On going back to the tent to pack up a few things we found the wind was blowing so strong that the SIG was lifting about 2 feet off the ground despite having carpet's in the main & sleeping area's, 4 chairs, table, large box of food, cool box & cooking stand on it.
We were very suprised with only the 2 of us that we managed to get everything packed away without anything braking. The Vango Tigris is a lot stronger that it looks!

Well your son should be well on the mend now, are you over your little disaster yet? got another trip planned.

anybody know where the porch is in stock in blue? nobody seems to have one?

I too am struggling to locate the blue one. We did have one last year but went away in terrible weather, so bad it completely snapped the poles and we couldnt get them replaced. so we have the outer but not the poles. Just hoping we dont have the same weather this year. Will definately be giving the camping up if we do trying to pack away a tent and gear at 1.00am in the morning in high winds and rain is not a nice holiday lol I musy be out of my mind trying it again. Oh well heres to the good times. lol
