Thanks for all the replies :o)

I was kind of hoping for something nearer £100 for Glastonbury (Kampa's Bude 4 is about £200 by the look of it).

Does anyone have any experience of the "Coleman Coastline 4 Deluxe Tent - Four Person Tent". It's about £135 from CPC and ebay at the moment so it's nearer my budget. Or if anyone knows somewhere that I can get one of the other recommendations cheaper...?

We have something very similar to this see my profile pics.

It's got a really small pack size compared to most frame tents and the poles are aluminium so lighter than the usual steel. poles come in 2 sections that all ping together and join at the middle of the roof.

If you can find a small 3/4 berth frame tent,  (ours is a raclet astor) then you could strap it to a sack truck to wheel along. they dont have a sewn in groundsheet, but you could use a tarp over the mud flaps, which is what we do.

Ours is standing height, and the bedrooms are tall. Easily fits a double airbed.

really retro for festivals too, you'll notice it in amongst the small pop ups that seem to take over glastonbury.

The Vango Juno/peace 500 tepees are 2m tall, and cheap at around £50 for the Juno. Really thick bucket groundsheet and quick easy for one person to put up. They do have some good reviews. For a more expensive option, try 'canvas and cast'-they have a lovely 3m bell tent which is well over 2m high I believe. Thicker canvas than other brands, and about £300!!

Having looked around, I think what I'm after is probably (in order of importance) a tent:

1. at least 2m height

2. at least two areas (bedroom plus an open bit for the wellies etc)

3. lightweight and small to carry (a friend's taking them and putting them up for us because they're getting there a day or more earlier than we can and I don't want to burden them any more than necessary)

4. easy to put up (see 3.!)

5. for less than £100 (if possible - I'd go to £150 or even more if it's really (really!) worth it but I'd rather not since it's for a festival)

Despite the thread I've posted to, small footprint's not that important, except that it might make for a lighter pack or an easier build.

It would be nice to find a web site that sells tents where you can specify the height, even if I don't buy it from there (since looking for 2m narrows the field down somewhat, especially those with less bedrooms).

Thanks for all your replies so far, there are a few that I'm considering. The teepees look good and big, but I should really have something with two areas (especially if / when it rains!)

Rig up a simple awning with a tarp. There's a lovely photo of this somewhere on here, try doing a search for tepee or awning, that would give you an area to cook. Or get one of those little coleman shelter thingies for about £20.
I have a juno 5oo and it is massive for one person. Room for a double mattress at one side of the central pole and then room for a chair, corner for storage etc.
If you do consider the tepees, look also at Vango's 'green tee', their eco version of the juno, it has improvements such as a porch type thing and net door.
