We got ours for £459.00.... best i could find at the time - and we got a discount on the carpet which was soooooo nice under foot.

Just need to invest in the Footprint and I'm contemplating on the Front Extension - but I need to ask some questions on here about it first!

Kat67: there do seem to be quite a few people struggling to get their bigger tents on to campsites, even though you wouldn't have thought it would be a problem. It is something to bear in mind ... annoyingly.

As far as the modern polycotton tents are concerned I don't think they need much in the way of weathering, so I wouldn't be too worried about that.

You're absolutely right - Polycotton doesn't need weathering at all. We didn't weather ours and on the third day it rained... not a drop anywhere inside!

I think its because of the mix - unlike cotton that need to be watered first - the polyester part of it is what makes it immediately waterproof.

Yeah, the lady I spoke to yesterday on the Brean site said that a lot of campsites are now imposing stricter tent sizes. I wondered whether this meant that camping has become a lot more popular of late - maybe a sign of the economic climate? Anyhoo, the Holkham 6 is another contender then. It's basically the Filey 6 but the polycotton version. I do like the idea of it keeping us cooler in warm weather and warmer in cooler weather. Was just worried about the weathering because they mentioned it on the website. To be fair, I did think it would get a weathering when pitched anyway and I just read another thread (Sue and Phil's Bear Lake one I think it was) where someone said it should be ok.

Thanks to everyone for there help.

Does anyone know anywhere in Staffordshire (I live in Rugeley) where ther is either a Kampa Croyde 6 or an Outwell Arkansas 5 on show, that we can have a look at.

Also, unsure if this is the right area of the forum, but we would consider a second hand model of either of the above if anyone has one? (I did contact at Arkansas 5 seller on the for sale bit but got no reply)

Is there a wanted section on here?

The Croyde only came out this year, but you may be lucky... I'd be nervous about a second hand ployester tent - as to how much UV exposure, wear and tear it will have had, reducing its effective life span.

For displays - there is a map on Kampa's website of dealers they deal with. Ring before turning up to make sure they have what you want on display. Kampa only deal with smaller independents that can display their tents.
