Just a quick update for those who kindly replied, we eventually went for the Vango Icarus 600 and it's a cracker! We loved it when we were in Oswestry last weekend, kept us cosy and dry and was so easy to erect. Much better than any of our crappy previous tents. Am now considering the porch, hopefully we'll have this tent for years to come! Thanks again for all your help. Ruth x

With tents you really do get what you pay for them :)  £100 sounds a lot to begin with but then you use it and realise that £300 for a tent is actually cheap compared to the price they can go for :)

Glad you had a good time in a decent tent.  Being dry makes all the difference when camping lol
