OOooh we have just ordered our Soulpad today, well excited!! x
which one have you gone for? I initially ordered the 5000 ease but then changed it to the hybrid, for 2 reasons 1. so we can roll the walls up when we are in France (if it gets really hot, fingers crossed) and 2. if it gets wet it'll make it easier for us to dry.

May 13 - Cala Gogo, St Cyprien (didn't go, hubby too ill to travel)
May 14 Ranc Davaine
August 14 Les Sablons
August 13 - Camping Playa Brava, Pals
Thats why we chose the ultimate, it will be great to pitch with the groundsheet attatched but can be taken home separately if its wet.
There should be loads of new pics on here soon, looking forward to see everyones setup. yup I'm very nosey when it comes to tents, always have to go in em all at camping shows even tho i have no intension of buying.
Does anyone put a separate sheet down first to protect the groundsheet or do you think this is unnecessary, we do this with our oztent but that is much smaller than a belltent.

you can always by a rectangular or square tarp and fold it under the tent. just make sure there is no tarp poking out, otherwise you can get water running between the tarp and groundsheet

rosewall in july
blackberry wood in august
will hopefully be using it next bank holiday as son wants to go to Duxford IWM so will find somewhere nearby to camp.
I was hoping this weekend would be fine just so we could practise pitching, tie on the guys and generally figure out what the set up will be, but rain is forcast all weekend here so will have to see.
I'm dying to see it up tho so i can figure out what carpets and rugs i might want. oh and tables and lanterns and cushions and.........
I blame it on Val for her perfectly lovely setup

I mainly use canvas bell style tents, and do have some extra bits to give it a more traditional look. If I am forced by SWMBO to use a nylon tent, then I tend to leave the candles and oil lamps etc. at home as they don't really fit in with the image.
At the end of the day, I would use Val's pics as a guide, then trim back to what sutes you. I doubt you could find anything else to add that Val does not already have !!!!! ( I'm not jealous of your equipment Val honest)
I think we would all agree that Val is the datum mark from which we all work.
------------- Canvas tent, paraffin light, petrol stove. Heaven
I'd rather be kayaking.
Spent up, not pent up, just had my new tent up.
